The celebrant, having again greeted the congregation, recites the Offertory antiphon (proper to the Mass).
v. Dominus vobiscum.
r. Et cum spiritu tuo.
Oremus
v. The Lord be with you.
r. And with your spirit.
Let us pray
The celebrant removes and folds the chalice veil.
The celebrant offers up the bread, praying:
Amen.
Receive, O holy Father, almighty and eternal God, this spotless host, which I, your unworthy servant, offer to you, my living and true God, for my own countless sins, offenses, and negligences, and for all here present; as also for all faithful Christians living and dead, that it may avail both for my own and their salvation unto life eternal. Amen.
The celebrant, having made the sign of the cross with the Paten and host, places the host upon the corporal.
