At a High Mass the celebrant blesses the incense, which he puts in the thurible, saying: “Be you blessed by him in whose honor you shall be burned.” He then incenses the altar.
At Low Mass the celebrant goes at once to the Missal on his right and reads the Introit chant (proper to the Mass).
