EUCHARISTIC LITURGY – Canon: Concluding Doxologies

The celebrant concludes the Canon with two doxologies, commendatory statements, each with a summary and conclusion:

Per quem haec omnia, Domine, semper bona creas, sanctificas , vivificas , benedicis , et praestas nobis.

Through whom, O Lord, you always create, sanctify , quicken , bless , and bestow upon us all these your gifts.

The celebrant then takes the Host and the Chalice and elevates them slightly as he concludes the canon with the second doxology:

Per ipsum et cum ipso et in ipso est tibi Deo Patri omnipotenti, in unitate Spiritus Sancti, omnis honor et gloria, per omnia saecula saeculorum.

Through him and with him and in him be to you, O God the Father almighty, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all honor and glory, world without end.

He raises his voice when pronouncing the concluding words, so that all present may ratify the prayers of the Canon and answer: Amen.
